Gents Lose on Road to #2 Trinity, 8-0

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Tigers scored a pair of goals in the sixth minute and never looked back as Centenary (2-12-2, 1-10-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) fell to #2 Trinity (15-1, 11-1 SCAC) 8-0 Friday night, October 21.

Neil Verwillow scored at 5:09, followed by a penalty kick goal by Austin Michaelis 45 seconds later.

Freshman Shim Eliya came off the bench with three, shots for the Gents, two of which were on goal, all in the second half.

Sophomore Lamarr Meza played the first half and grabbed six saves on 10 shot faced. Senior Kaleb Behm played the second half for the Gents, grabbing three saves on seven shots faced.

Duncan James scored the final two goals for the home team, while Christian Sakshaug and Patrick Cunneff both added a goal and assist in the game. Sakshaug led the team with seven shots, three of which were on target.

Blake Lieberman played the first half for the Tigers with one save. McCaleb Taylor played the entire second half and stopped four shots.

Centenary returns to action Sunday, October 22, with a match at Schreiner. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
