LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its annual Fall Sportsmanship Teams for 2017 on Wednesday, November 29.
Freshman Piper Beilke represents Ladies soccer, while senior Kaleb Behm was named to the squad for Gents soccer. Junior Amanda Farr made the team for Ladies volleyball.
Beilke is one of only four freshmen out of 37 athletes - and the only women's soccer player - who was named to the SCAC All-Sportsmanship Teams.
"When you hear the words sportsmanship and teammate, Piper Beilke always seems to come to mind," said Ladies soccer head coach Greg Cathell. "Piper is the epitome of a supportive teammate who always wants the best for her colleagues. I'm pleased to hear of Piper's selection to the SCAC Sportsmanship Team, and I know that Centenary is well represented by this wonderful young Lady."
Beilke appeared in 10 games for Ladies soccer and started the first two games of the season. A midfielder, she helped Centenary achieve its best SCAC regular season finish in school history and its first trip to the Conference Tournament Semifinals.
Senior Kaleb Behm recently finished a four-year soccer career with the Gents.
"Kaleb exemplifies what it means to be a true competitor," said Gents soccer head coach Kyle Symczak. "He is one of the hardest workers on our team and constantly displays a level of respect for the game. Whether the result is victory or defeat, he never lets his emotions impact the respect he has for the game. I am thrilled Kaleb is recognized for this award and know that he will continue to show these traits in whatever he pursues in life."
Behm appeared in 17 games with 14 starts for Gents soccer and finished second in the conference with 105 saves. Behm tallied his lone career shutout in a Gents 2-0 win against Schreiner October 1, and grabbed a career high 11 saves in the final game of the season at Austin College October 28.
Amanda Farr is representing Ladies volleyball on the Sportsmanship Team for the second straight season.
"Amanda continually goes above and beyond in being respectful to teammates, coaches, and opponents," said Ladies volleyball head coach Caroline Carlton. "She respects the game and always works hard in both practice and in games. Amanda puts her teammates first and always has the best interest of the team in mind."
Farr played in 33 matches and 66 sets for Centenary volleyball this season, helping the Ladies achieve their second-best win total and the most conference wins in school history.
