Early Second Half Goal Sinks Gents, 1-0

SHREVEPORT, La. - The Gents and Crusaders were scoreless at half, but an early second-half goal on a free kick proved to be the difference as Centenary (2-10-2, 1-8-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) fell in its final night conference game to Dallas (8-2-2, 7-1-2 SCAC) 1-0 on senior night Friday, October 13.

Senior goalkeeper Kaleb Behm stopped all three Dallas shots in the first half and another just a minute into the second half, but a foul by Centenary gave Dallas a free kick at the top of the box. Eric Haigh served the ball in and found the head of Nate Riddle for his first goal of the season in the 49th minute.

Junior Andre Anassi tallied the lone shot on goal for the Gents just 1:39 later, but Dallas goalie Sean Carlin grabbed the ball in his only shot faced.

Behm finished the game with eight saves on nine shots faced Dallas outshot Centenary 25-11, including 9-1 in shots on goal.

Centenary returns to action for its penultimate home game of the season Sunday, October 15, when its hosts Colorado College. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
