Gents travel to Colorado for pair of weekend matches

Shreveport, La. - The Centenary men's soccer team will face Colorado College Friday at 7 p.m. mountain time (8 p.m. central) at Washburn Field in Colorado Springs.

The Gents (1-0) are coming off a hard-fought victory over LeTourneau on Tuesday in their home opener while the Tigers (2-2) dropped a 4-1 decision to host Ohio Wesleyan University last Saturday. The Tigers won both matches over the Maroon and White last season.

Centenary freshman midfielder Andres Bautista (Houston, Texas/Cypress Springs HS) scored the lone goal for the Gents on Tuesday, knocking the ball into the net past the YellowJackets' keeper Diego Berlingeri in the 25th minute of the first half. The Gents' defense stood strong all evening to keep LeTourneau off the scoreboard. Each team collected 17 shots on the night and Centenary GK Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La./Lafayette HS) made 10 saves in a sparkling defensive performance in goal.
