Men's Soccer Welcomes Hendrix to Town for Tuesday Match

Shreveport, La. - The Centenary men's soccer team will face the Hendrix Warriors on Tuesday in a non-conference match set for 7 p.m. at Mayo Field.

The Gents (1-2) dropped a tough match to Johnson and Wales by a score of 3-1 on the road back on Sept. 15 in their most recent match. Last Friday's match against St. Thomas in Houston was postponed due to weather and no makeup date has been announced yet.

Centenary blanked LeTourneau, 1-0, in its home opener on Sept. 10 and is ready to get back on the field for just the fourth time this season, not counting a 2-0 exhibition win over LSU-Alexandria last month.

Tuesday's match begins a string of five consecutive home matches for the Gents with seven of their next nine coming at Mayo Field. The Maroon and White open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Oct. 4 against Johnson and Wales and have nine home matches remaining this season. Hendrix (2-6) defeated Louisiana College by a score of 5-2 last Saturday in its most recent action.

Three of the Gents' five goals this season have been scored by freshman and sophomore goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) has started every game on the season and has made 16 saves.

Live video and live stats will be available for the match via www.gocentenary.com. A complete recap will be available after the match and check Centenary athletics on social media for updates throughout the match.
