San Antonio, Texas – The Centenary men's soccer team fell to the Trinity Tigers, 2-0, on Sunday in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match.
The Gents (6-4, 2-2 SCAC) fell behind 1-0 at halftime as Quentin Van Der Lee scored the first of his two goals for the Tigers (6-3-2, 2-1- SCAC) on a penalty kick just minutes before the end of the first half. Trinity outshot the Gents, 23-6, in the match.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) played all 90 minutes Sunday and made six saves. Van Der Lee added his second goal in the 55th minute.
The Gents return home for a pair of matches beginning next Friday, Oct. 18 when they meet St. Thomas in SCAC play at 7 p.m. at Mayo Field and then welcome Louisiana College to town next Monday, Oct. 21 for a non-conference match at 7. #GoCentenary #CTheOpportunity
