Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Match at Schreiner

Kerrville, Texas- The Centenary men's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 decision to the Schreiner Mountaineers on Friday in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road match at the Mountaineer Soccer Field.

The Gents (6-3, 2-1 SCAC) had their five-game winning streak snapped while Schreiner improved to 3-8-1 and 1-1 in SCAC play. Despite the loss, Centenary allowed one goal or less for the seventh-consecutive game. The Maroon and White were coming off a stellar five-game home stand in which they outscored the opposition 13-1 and recorded four shutouts. Centenary is 6-0 at home this season and have allowed only one goal in those six games, outscoring its five opponents, 14-1. 

The lone goal in Friday's contest was scored by Schreiner's Blaze Presley in the 75th minute. 

Centenary had 10 shots on Friday including six on goal but Schreiner goalkeeper Cody Smith was solid and made six saves. Sophomore goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) of the Gents played all 90 minutes and made one save. 

The Gents wrap up the weekend road trip on Sunday with a match against the Trinity Tigers in San Antonio set for 2 p.m. Trinity (5-3-2, 2-1-0 SCAC) fell to St. Thomas, 1-0, on Friday. Live stats and live video will be available for Sunday's match.  #GoCentenary #CTheOpportunity
