Men's Soccer Welcomes Louisiana College To Town Monday

Shreveport – The Centenary men's soccer team welcomes the Louisiana College Wildcats to Mayo Field on Monday for a non-conference match set for 7 p.m.

The Gents (6-5) dropped a 2-1 decision to St. Thomas on Friday at home in their last game, falling for the first time at Mayo Field this season. Centenary won its first six home matches this season. The Gents have outscored the opposition, 15-3, in seven home matches. St. Thomas is one of only two teams to score against the Maroon and White at home this season as they have posted five shutouts.

Louisiana College (1-12) a member of the American Southwest Conference, has lost four straight matches entering Monday's action. The Wildcats are 1-7 in conference play this season. The Gents are currently seventh in the SCAC standings at 2-3, just behind Southwestern (3-2-1) and Dallas (2-2-1).

Sophomore Wil Escobar, a midfielder from Cypress, Texas, leads the Maroon and White with six goals this season, three of which are game winners. His six goals are the fourth-best total in the SCAC. Escobar scored all four goals for the Gents in a pair of victories at home to open the SCAC play earlier this month against Johnson and Wales and Colorado College.

Escobar, a SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honoree earlier this month following that four-goal weekend, currently ranks second in the SCAC in goals per game and fifth in points per game. He is also second in the league in game-winning goals with three.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) ranks first in the conference in saves per game and shutouts and is second in save percentage and third in saves with 64.

Live stats and live video stream via College TV Ticket will be available for Monday's match. The Gents return to SCAC play this weekend as they hit the road and face Dallas on Friday at 7 p.m. and Austin College on Sunday at 2 p.m. #GoCentenary #CTheOpportunity
