
Ladies To Play Four Games In 2023 Warrior Spring Fling
The Centenary softball team is set for a busy weekend as the Ladies are scheduled to play four non-conference games in the 2023 Warrior Spring Fling hosted by Hendrix College at Warrior Softball Field.
Conway, Ark. - The Centenary softball team is set for a busy weekend as the Ladies are scheduled to play four non-conference games in the 2023 Warrior Spring Fling hosted by Hendrix College at Warrior Softball Field.
The Ladies (0-2) will face host Hendrix, who is opening its season, on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the opening game of the tournament. Centenary then faces Westminster (Mo.) at 12:30 p.m. The Ladies will play Westminster again on Sunday at 10 a.m. and Hendrix for a second time at 3 p.m. Hendrix and Westminster play each other on Saturday at 3 p.m. and again on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Westminster will also begin its season this weekend.

The Ladies will look to get in the win column after dropping a non-conference doubleheader to the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles at home on Sunday to open their season, falling 4-2 in game one and 10-5 in nine innings in game two.
Centenary totaled 18 hits, four of which were extra-base hits, in the two games last weekend with three stolen bases. Junior RF Mackenzie Cox (Alexandria, La.) led the way on offense as she hit .500 (4-8) with three RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base. Senior LF Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nev.) hit .429 with a double, run scored, walk, and stolen base. Senior CF Mallory Stout (Trinity, Texas) scored a team-leading three runs and had two hits. junior 1B Isabelle Dominguez (Newark, Calif.), freshman 2B Catherine Stokes (Natchitoches, La.), and sophomore 3B Alyssa Akers (Maurice, La.) each had two hits last weekend. Sophomore SS Brooke Sandefur (Baton Rouge, La.) was 1-3 with two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in game two of the DH.
The Ladies used four pitchers last weekend - sophomore P Anna Scarbrock (Alexandria, La.) and then a trio of freshmen in freshman Alexis Roach (Pineville, La.), freshman Abigail Hodgson (Georgetown, Texas), and freshman Emma Crow (Krotz Springs, La.). Scarbrock suffered the loss in the circle for the Ladies in game one as she went the distance and allowed four runs, all earned, and 13 hits with no walks and two strikeouts. The CG was the seventh of her young career.
The Ladies went 2-2 in the Warrior Spring Fling last season, beating Westminster twice and falling twice to the host Warriors.
