Irving, Texas - Sophomore P Anna Scarbrock (Alexandria, La.) tossed a complete game shutout as the Ladies opened their three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference weekend series with a 4-0 victory over the University of Dallas Crusaders on Friday at the UD Softball facility.

Scarbrock (5-8) needed only 55 pitches in her seven innings of work as she threw her team-leading seven complete game of the season to lead the Ladies (9-19, 4-6 SCAC) to the win over the Crusaders (5-19, 0-10 SCAC). The series concludes on Saturday with a doubleheader set for 1 and 3 p.m.

The Ladies improved to 3-4 on the road this season while the Crusaders fell to 5-14 on their home field and have lost nine games in a row. Centenary won its seventh-straight game over Dallas and has dominated the recent series, having won nine of the last 10 meetings and is 31-12 all-time against Dallas.

Centenary, which has swept Dallas in each of the last two seasons, finished with 10 hits in Friday's win, which marks the ninth time this season that the Maroon and White have recorded 10+ hits in a game.

Scarbrock got plenty of offensive support but did not need much based on the way she pitched. She faced 25 batters, threw 41 of her 55 pitches for strikes, allowed just two hits, and walked one with one strikeout. She allowed a two-out single in the third and a leadoff single in the fifth and that was it for the Crusaders. The two hits allowed are a season low by Scarbrock and for the 14th time in 17 appearances this season, she allowed one walk or less. She has seven appearances this season without allowing a walk.

Centenary drew one walk, struck out six times, left six on base, and committed two errors while Dallas finished with a walk, a strikeout, four left on, and did not commit an error.

Senior LF Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nev.), freshman 2B Catherine Stokes (Natchitoches, La.), and junior 1B Isabelle Dominguez (Newark, Calif.) each had two hits to pace the Ladies' offense. Patridge had a double, a stolen base, and scored two runs, Stokes gave the Ladies a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first, and Dominguez capped the scoring in the sixth with a solo home run, her first of the season.

Sophomore SS Brooke Sandefur (Denham Springs, La.) drove in Patridge with an RBI single in the third and freshman Sophie Vidrine (Eunice, La.) doubled home freshman C Jaeden Thrasher (Forney, Texas) in the fourth to make it 3-0. Vidrine also stole a base and Thrasher finished 1-2 with a run scored.

Dallas starter SunnyDale Thies (2-8) went the distance and suffered the loss as she allowed four runs, all earned, and 10 hits in her seven innings of work. She faced 31 batters and threw 103 pitches (72 strikes) while issuing one walk, a home run, and struck out six.

C Daniela Rosario and 1B Faith Martin had Dallas' only two hits, as Martin singled down the left-field line in the third and Rosario singled and was sacrificed to second by RF Jennifer Schmalz in the fifth but left stranded there. Schmalz drew the Crusaders' lone walk of the game.
