Kaylea Patridge Earns 2023 All-Louisiana Honorable-Mention Honors

New Orleans -Senior LF/SS Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nev.) has been named to the 2023 All-Louisiana Softball team, earning Honorable-Mention honors, the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) announced on Tuesday.

Patridge put the finishing touches on a superb career with the Ladies following a memorable 2023 senior season. She led the team with an impressive .417 batting average, had a .458 on-base percentage, and slugged .568. She had a team-high 55 hits, 23 runs scored, 27 RBI, 11 doubles, three triples, and one home run. She stole 11 bases and had a .942 fielding %. 

Patridge was named Second-Team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference last month and was named the SCAC Hitter of the Week on Feb. 20. 

She finished in top 10 in the conference in eight different statistical categories and led the conference in hits during regular season. She posted 19 multi-hit games (one 5-hit game, one 4-hit game, and three 3-hit performances. She was the team leader in RBI and doubles and in 132 at-bats, she only struck out nine times with eight walks. She had a 14-game hitting streak and collected two or more hits in 11 of her final 15 games this past season. On Feb. 18, she hit for the cycle (5-5/8 RBI) against Westminster, setting a SCAC mark for RBI in single game and her five hits are tied for second-most in SCAC history for a single game.

Patridge was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2022-23 Academic All-District® Softball Team last month. She was also named the SCAC Softball Elite 19 Award Winner. Established prior to the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each conference sponsored-sport as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. The student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First, Second or Third Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.

Patridge boasted a cumulative GPA of 3.911 with a major in theoretical mathematics and a minor in biology and  is the first Centenary athlete to earn Elite 19 honors in softball. She is just the third Ladies' player to earn All-Louisiana honors, joining teammate Mackenzie Cox (2022 - Honorable-Mention) and Anna Dunn (2018 - First Team).
