Ladies Set To Face Wiley College On Wednesday

Marshall, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team will face the Wiley College Wildcats on Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest set for 6 p.m. inside Alumni Gymnasium.

The Ladies (5-10) dropped three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches last weekend at a SCAC Crossover hosted by Colorado College. Centenary fell twice on Saturday, 3-1 to Schreiner University and 3-0 to the host Tigers, and then 3-0 to Trinity University on Sunday.

The Wildcats (2-12) have lost three in a row entering Wednesday's action and are 1-5 at home this season. Centenary aims to sweep the season series after recording a 3-0 sweep over Wiley at home on Sept. 6.

Ladies' Season Leaders:

Aces: Junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) – 21

Assists: Sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) – 383

Blocks: Junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) – 8

Digs: Liedy – 216

Kills: Canady – 120

Centenary has 502 assists, 91 aces, 21 solo blocks, 815 digs, and 544 kills. The Maroon and White are averaging 10.26 kills per set, 9.47 assists/set, 1.32 blocks/set, 1.72 aces/set, and 15.38 digs/set. The Ladies have a .135 hitting % with 290 errors in 1,876 total attacks.

Junior RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) is right behind Canady for the team lead in kills with 119 and has 135 digs (second on team) and 15 aces (tied for third on team). She is also second on the team on total blocks with three solo blocks and 15 block assists.

Canady also has 34 digs, eight assists, and four aces. Liedy, in addition to being the team leader in both aces and digs, has tallied 26 assists (third on team) and one kill and is tied for fifth in the SCAC in aces. Smith has 143 digs (second on team), 21 kills, and eight block assists and currently ranks third in the conference in assists.

Sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) has turned in an impressive season as she boasts 109 digs (fourth on team), 15 aces (tied for second on team), 21 assists (fourth on team) and three kills. Senior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) has 69 digs, 45 kills, eight block assists, two aces, and one assist.

Freshman RS/S Victoria Larson (Royse City, Texas) is off to a solid start in her rookie season as she has totaled 60 kills, 44 assists, 22 digs, and two solo blocks along with 10 block assists for a total of 12. Freshman OH/DS Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) has recorded 63 kills, 51 digs, four assists, two aces, and six block assists. Freshman MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) has 71 kills, six digs, two assists, an ace, and is second on the team in total blocks (25) with six solo blocks and 19 block assists.

The Ladies remain on the road this weekend as they return to conference play in Seguin, Texas for a SCAC Crossover hosted by Texas Lutheran University. Centenary will face the University of St. Thomas and Southwestern University on Friday and the host Bulldogs on Saturday.
