Shreveport – The Centenary volleyball team picked up a home sweep over the Williams Baptist University Eagles in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (7-13) snapped their three-game losing streak and took a break from Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with an easy win over the Eagles (4-15). Centenary, back on its home court for the first time since a sweep over Tougaloo College back on Sept. 27, now leads the all-time series 4-3 after the splitting its first six matches with the Eagles, who fell to 1-9 on the road. Centenary improved to 5-2 at home this season with four sweeps.

The win also marked career win number 100 for Ladies' head coach Ashley McDonough. She is also now just three wins away from becoming the all-time winningest coach in program history.

Centenary won the first set, 25-16, took set two 25-22, and clinched the match with a dominant 25-8 win in set three. The Ladies totaled 57 digs, 35 kills, 27 assists, and 10 aces and recorded their top hitting percentage in set three (.385) with 11 kills and just one error in 26 total attacks.

Aces: Sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) – 4

Assists: Smith – 21

Digs: Senior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) – 13

Kills: Junior RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) – 14

Smith added 10 digs and one kill, Lemelle had four kills, and St. Martin also had six digs and two aces. Sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) tallied seven digs and one ace, junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) finished with 12 digs, three aces, and a pair of assists, and Junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) had six kills and two digs.

Freshman OH/DS Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) added four kills, senior OH Madison Schonberg (Harbor City, Calif.) chipped in three kills and two digs, and freshman MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) tallied two digs and a kill. Freshman MB/OH Reign McArthur (Midlothian, Texas) had a kill, junior DS Allana Scott-Daniels (Spring, Texas) had two digs, and freshman S Hailey Hill (La Grange, Texas) made her Ladies' debut and recorded a dig.

Centenary remains at home to face Louisiana Christian University on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m.
