Shreveport – The Centenary volleyball team fell 3-2 to the Louisiana Christian University Wildcats in a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (7-14) fell to 5-3 at home and lost both matches this season to the Wildcats (12-6) after the Maroon and White lost 3-1 to LC in Pineville last month.

Centenary won the first set, 25-19, LC took set two 25-23, and won the third set 25-16, but the Ladies extended the match with a 25-18 win in set four. The Wildcats then clinched the match with a 16-14 win in set five.

The Ladies finished with a season-high 106 digs, 52 kills, 48 assists, nine service aces, and season-best seven blocks while the Wildcats totaled 112 digs, 58 kills, 53 assists, six blocks, and three aces. The 106 digs are the 10th-most in a match in the division III (2011-present) era.

Ladies' Statistical Leaders:

Aces: Junior RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) – 4

Assists: Sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) – 24

Digs: Junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) – 27

Kills: St. Martin – 17

St. Martin added 18 digs, two solo blocks, and one assist. Smith tallied 11 digs, an ace, and a kill and Liedy added an ace. Senior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) had 23 digs, second-most behind Liedy, and added five kills and a pair of assists.

Sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) tallied 12 digs, an ace, and an assist and freshman S Hailey Hill (La Grange, Texas) finished with 18 assists, second-most behind Smith, and had seven digs and one block. Freshman OH/DS Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) added three kills and two digs and junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) had five kills and a dig.

Freshman RS/S Victoria Larson (Royse City, Texas) tallied 10 kills and one dig, senior OH Madison Schonberg (Harbor City, Calif.) chipped in two kills and a dig, freshman MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) had a solid match with eight kills, three solo blocks, an assist, and a dig, and freshman MB/OH Reign McArthur (Midlothian, Texas) had two digs, two aces, a solo block, a kill, and an assist.

The Ladies will now return to conference play this weekend as they play host to a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Crossover at the Gold Dome on Friday and Saturday. The event will feature the Ladies along with Austin College, Colorado College, the University of Dallas, Schreiner University, and Trinity University.
