Ladies Swept By Texas Lutheran On Saturday

Seguin, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team fell 3-0 to the host Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs in its final match of a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference crossover on Saturday afternoon at Tostengard Activity Center.

The Ladies (6-13, 0-8 SCAC) dropped a pair of matches on Friday, 3-1 to St. Thomas and 3-0 to Southwestern. The Bulldogs improved to 15-4 overall and 6-1 in SCAC play.

The Bulldogs won the first set by a score of 25-12, set two 25-9, and clinched the sweep with a 25-16 win in set three. The Ladies finished with 35 digs, 20 kills, 19 assists, and one ace while the Bulldogs tallied 55 digs, 41 kills, 35 assists, 11 aces, and one solo block.

Ladies' Statistical Leaders:

Aces: Freshman MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) – 1

Assists: Sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) – 15

Digs: Junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) – 12

Kills: Junior RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) – 7

Senior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) had eight digs and three kills, junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) added a pair of kills, sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) finished with three digs and a pair of assists, and senior OH Madison Schonberg (Harbor City, Calif.) had five kills and one assist. Henderson a dig and a kill, Smith also had three digs and two kills, St. Martin added eight digs, and Liedy also had an assist.

The Ladies will take a break from conference play and return home for the first time in over two weeks on Saturday as they will face Williams Baptist University at Noon. Centenary is 4-2 at home this season with three sweeps.
