Shreveport – The Centenary volleyball team recorded a 3-0 sweep over the Tougaloo College Bulldogs in a non-conference contest on Wednesday evening at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (5-7) snapped a five-game losing streak and won their second in a row over the Bulldogs (1-14) after beating them 3-1 last season on the road. Centenary raced out to a 1-0 lead in the match following a lopsided 25-3 win in set one, then won set two 25-13, and clinched the sweep with a 25-16 victory in the third set.

The Ladies hit .375 in set one with just one error in 24 total attacks and finished at .360 in the final set (four errors in 25 total attacks) to earn their best hitting % of the season in a match - .329. Centenary recorded a season-best 16 service aces along with 33 kills, 32 assists, and 30 digs. The Bulldogs tallied 24 digs, 13 kills, 12 assists, and four aces.

Sophomore S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) posted a match-best 27 assists which marked the 10th time this season she has had 25+ in a match. She added six digs and a kill. Junior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) had a match-best 13 digs and added three assists and a season and career-high seven aces. Junior MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) finished with six kills, sophomore DS/L Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) had two digs, and junior RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) tallied eight kills and a pair of digs.

Freshman RS/S Victoria Larson (Royse City, Texas) had a solid match with 10 kills and three digs and Senior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) added two kills and a dig. freshman OH/DS Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) chipped in a kill, freshman S/DS Hannah Dimmel (Navasota, Texas) recorded a season and career-best five aces and added an assist and a dig.

Senior OH Madison Schonberg (Harbor City, Calif.) had two kills and junior DS Allana Scott-Daniels (Spring, Texas) finished with an ace. Freshman MB/OH Reign McArthur (Midlothian, Texas) had an assist and a kill, and freshman RS Maia Kraft (Galveston, Texas) had a pair of kills.

Three Ladies - senior OH/RS April Jones (Longview, Texas), freshman UT Yadneli Molina (Vinton, La.), and freshman UT Kahlan Johnson (Haughton, La.) all made their season debuts as Jones played in one set, Molina recorded three aces, and a dig, and Johnson had one dig.

Centenary returns to Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend as the Ladies (0-2 SCAC) will head to Colorado College for a SCAC Crossover to play a trio of league matches on Saturday and Sunday.

The Ladies will face Schreiner University (8-7, 1-3 SCAC) on Saturday at Noon, host Colorado College (5-6, 2-2 SCAC) at 4:30 p.m., and then Trinity University (11-3, 3-0 SCAC) at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
