Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Sept. 29 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Sept. 29 Edition

Hey hey, it is senior Lacey Wedge with your weekly gym talk. Hope everyone's week is going great! It is almost OCTOBER! The cold weather is coming in and the Ladies are having a blast. We have a couple of amazing topics to talk about this week for our LADIES!!! Well let's get started, shall we?

The LADIES have had a lot of outstanding accomplishments through this week! Freshman Claire Flores had shoulder surgery before the school year, and she is slowly coming back. This week she progressed to hanging on the bars, doing some back handsprings and beam work without putting pressure on her shoulder. Junior Roxy Meyers is also coming back excellently after her shoulder surgery last year. She is swinging giants and putting pressure on that shoulder. What a STRONG LADY. The LADIES are all improving tremendously, and we are so excited to see what they have in store for the season coming up!

It is still the beginning of the school year, so the ladies are working extra hard on their strength and conditioning to help improve their skills. The Ladies were so excited to hear that our new Head Coach will be moving to Shreveport this Tuesday, September 27. We cannot wait to see what great things are in store for us.

On the other hand, on Friday, September 23 the ladies had the annual SISTER REVEAL!!!! Each freshman gets put into a family that they will now call their sisters. The junior class (Rylie Molina, Izzie Plaza, and Roxy Meyers) planned the sister reveal. They decided to do a little escape room theme. They had the freshmen play games to find clues on who their sister will be. Each time they figured out a clue they got a piece of clothing. Each family had a pajama set so when the freshmen were done with their clues, they had all the same clothing items as their family. All the families were in a room with the lights off. When the freshman walked in, we turned the lights on. Can you guess what they found? That's right, they found their family. The Ladies were all super excited to meet their new sister. We all celebrated after and took cute family pictures. Want to meet our sister families? First, we have freshman Amy Foret with senior Lacey Wedge and junior Roxy Meyers. Second, freshman Olivia Stratman with senior Kendall Huff and sophomore Emma Lavelle. Third, freshman Claire Flores with senior Rose Deshler and junior Rylie Molina. Fourth, freshman Sophie Schmitz with senior Taylor Wilson and junior Izzie Plaza. Fifth, senior Leilani Johnson and sophomore Carissa Martinez. Lastly, senior Kennedy Stephens and sophomore Mylia Vidtor. These Ladies had a blast and are so happy with their families.

I hope y'all are having a wonderful week and thanks for keeping up with the LADIESSS!!

Signing off:

Senior Lacey Wedge
