Cape Girardeau, Mo. – The Centenary gymnastics team finished fifth on Friday evening at the Midwest Independent Conference Championships with a 188.875 team score inside Houck Field House.

Southeast Missouri State University served as the host and finished third (195.525). Illinois State University won the title with a 196.375 score and Lindenwood University was second (196.275). Texas Woman's University placed fourth with a 194.900 score.

Senior Taylor Ann Wilson (Memphis, Tenn.) had the Ladies' top individual finish of the meet as she tied for 11^th on bars with a 9.750. Freshman Sophie Schmitz (Trophy Club, Texas) finished 22^nd on bars with a 9.60.

Freshman Amy Foret (Bedford, Texas) finished eighth in the All-Around with a 37.150 while Illinois State's Alana Laster won with a 39.350. Foret tied for 22^nd on vault (9.625) and also tied for 22^nd on floor with a 9.725 for her two top individual finishes.

Senior Leilani Johnson (Wichita, Kan.) was Centenary's top finisher on floor (9.80). Foret was next, senior Kendall Huff (Riviera, Texas) was right behind her as she tied for 23^rd place (9.625), and sophomore Carissa Martinez (Albuquerque, N.M.) tied for 25^th place at 9.55. Martinez earned a 9.70 to tie for 23^rd place on floor. Her best finish of the meet was on beam – 9.75 to tie for 17^th place. Senior Kennedy Stephens (Bella Vista, Ark.) finished 23^rd on beam with a 9.625.

Centenary now waits to hear if any Ladies are selected for the NCAA Regionals on April 1 or the USA Gymnastics Collegiate Nationals April 6-8 in Denton, Texas.
