Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Nov. 2 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Nov. 2 Edition

Hello Ladies Gymnastics Fans!! It's your favorite red head Rylie Molina for this week's gym talk.

The Ladies were super busy last week in preparation for the Walk like M.A.D.D. that we hosted on Saturday October 29th in honor of former gymnast, Sylvia Keiter. Big shoutout to my fellow juniors Izzie Plaza and Roxy Myers, as well as senior Rose Deshler for putting this event together. It was an amazing turnout! We had over 230 participants and raised over $800 for M.A.D.D. Shout out to the gymnastics teams at Arizona, TWU, University of Bridgeport, Southeastern Missouri, Lindenwood, Cornell, Temple, Air Force, University of Wisconsin Lacrosse, and University of New Hampshire! We really felt the love from the college gymnastics community around the country!

We were also preparing for our very first beam intrasquad of the season, which just so happened to be on sophomore Roxy Myers' 20th birthday. The beam queens started off strong with senior Rose Deshler who hit a beautiful set. Next sophomore Emma Lavelle surprised us with some new skills added into her routine. Third was freshman Amy Foret competing in her very first intrasquad of her college career. Then, we had senior Kennedy Stevens show off her beautiful flexibility in her routine. Second to last we had freshman Sophie Schmitz debuting her gorgeous beam set. Finally, in the sixth spot, we had sophomore Carissa Martinez blow us away with her HIT beam set. It was a successful beam intrasquad and we are so proud of everyone who was able to contribute.

We topped off our exciting week on Halloween by participating in the Centenary College of Louisiana Athletics' annual Spooktacular on Mayo Field. We all dressed up as the Pacman Ghosts and our lovely head coach Meg Crowley was Pacman. We loved cheering on all the kids who came to knock down the stacked-up ghost cups with a ball. I would say that our game was the most popular with the kids, but I know the Ladies had a lot of fun going around and trying out the other sports' games too.

Overall, it was a super fun week, and we can't wait for all the activities coming up for Centenary's Homecoming next week.

Also, if you have been dying to get some Centenary Gymnastics apparel check out our team shop: click here. All proceeds go to benefit your Centenary Ladies and it will ship directly to you. The shop closes at the end of the day on November 9th, so don't wait!

Hope you enjoyed all that came out of this week!  See you on the flip and join us next week for sophomore Carissa Martinez's Gym Talk!
