Arnaudville, La. - The Centenary softball team lost for the first time this season, dropping a 5-0 decision on Friday night to the Millsaps Majors in non-conference play.

The Ladies (4-1) and Majors (1-2) will meet again on Saturday in a doubleheader with games set for 2 and 4 p.m. Live video will be available for both games at https://www.collegetvticket.com/portal/centenary. All three neutral-site games, originally scheduled for Shreveport, are being played at Beau Chene High School.

Centenary freshman pitcher Hailee Leger (Belle Chasse, La.) suffered her first loss of the season as she allowed four runs, all earned, and seven hits in 5.2 innings of work. She struck out three and did not walk a batter. The Majors became the first team to come close to touching the superb freshman this season as Leger, who was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 8, entered Friday's game having not allowed an earned run in 16 innings this season. She pitched six innings on Thursday in game one of the Ladies' doubleader sweep of Hendrix on the road and allowed just two unearned runs and a pair of hits in six innings with no walks and six strikeouts. Through 21.3 innings pitched this season she has yet to walk a batter, allowed just four earned runs, 11 hits, and 15 strikeouts. 

Hannah Derouen (1-0) picked up the win in the circle for the Majors as she tossed a complete-game shutout and allowed just three hits. She walked three and struck out six. Kat Reeves and Lindsey Osbon cobined to go 4-6 with two runs scored and an RBI and Brooklyn Wascom went 1-3 with three RBI and a run scored. 

Centenary freshman Cambry Bates (Readhimer, La.) picked up her first career hits on Friday as she led the Ladies' offesne going 2-3. Freshman right fielder Mackenzie Cox (Alexandria, La.) drew a pair of walks.
