The Ladies (13-12, 6-4 SCAC) have now won four of five games after sweeping Dallas on the road last weekend. Southwestern sits at 8-12 overall and 6-5 in conference play following Friday's DH split. The Ladies entered Friday's play third in the conference standings with the Pirates just behind them in fourth.

Game one recap:

Freshman Hailee Leger (Belle Chasse, La.) tossed a complete-game shutout to even her record to 6-6. She allowed just four hits, all singles, with a walk and three strikeouts and threw 71 pitches, 51 for strikes. Tori Montemayor (5-6) took the loss for the Pirates as she allowed for runs, two earned, and five hits in six innings of work. She walked three and struck out a pair.

Freshman Cambry Bates (Readhimer, La.) and sophomore second baseman Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nev.) each had two hits to lead the Ladies' offense. Freshman right fielder Mackenzie Cox (Alexandria, La.) had a hit, a run scored, and a walk in three at-bats from the leadoff spot. Centenary stole three bases with Clark, senior left fielder Brittney Broussard (Rayne, La.) and junior SS Jaymee Wilkinson (Brazoria, Texas) each swiping a bag.

Centenary took a 1-0 lead in the first as Bates delivered a two-out RBI double to score Cox. That lead stood until the bottom of the fifth when the Ladies added three runs on an error, a groundout, and a sacrifice fly and Leger cruised the rest of the way to complete the shutout victory.

Game two recap:

Southwestern scored four runs in the top of the third inning to break a scoreless tie, then the Ladies rallied for three runs the next two innings but the Pirates added two in the seventh to seal the win and earn the DH split.

The Pirates found their offense in game two, getting 12 hits off of three Centenary pitchers. Southwestern starter Kinly McCaffrey (1-1) went the distance to earn the victory as she allowed three runs, two earned, and five hits in her seven innings of work. She walked five and struck out four.

Junior Ashley Hunter (Benton, La.) started for Centenary and took the loss to fall to 4-3 as she allowed three runs, all earned, and four hits in 2.2 innings pitched. She walked one and did not record a strikeout. Fellow junior Kirstyn Gomez (Deer Park, Texas) relieved her and went 3.2 innings and allowed three earned runs and seven hits with a strikeout. Bates pitched the final 2/3 innings and allowed a hit.

Cox had three hits and scored a run including a triple and Patridge had an RBI triple in the fifth to score Cox. Senior catcher Erin Lewis (Leesville, La.) and sophomore third baseman Britlyn Garrett (Stonewall. La.) each added RBI.

The Pirates' offense was led by three hits each from 2B Maddie Mefford and DH Kathryn Dull. Catcher Katelyn Francis and Dull combined for five RBI.
