Women's Basketball Releases 2021-22 Schedule
The Centenary women’s basketball program has released its 2021-22 regular season schedule, as the Ladies open their season on Friday, Nov. 5 at home versus the LeTourneau University YellowJackets at 7 p.m. in the Gold Dome.
Shreveport – The Centenary women's basketball program has released its 2021-22 regular season schedule, as the Ladies open their season on Friday, Nov. 5 at home versus the LeTourneau University YellowJackets at 7 p.m. in the Gold Dome.
Centenary is scheduled to play 24 regular-season contests and a pair of exhibition games, with 12 home games and 14 road/neutral games. The Ladies finished last season, an abbreviated one due to COVID-19, with a 1-9 record but played a number of close games as they lost four of those nine games by nine points or less.
Dana Dunson takes over as interim head coach this season for former head coach Jason Schmitz, who accepted another position earlier this month. Dunson is entering his third year on the Ladies' staff.
The Ladies will face Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. on Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. in an exhibition contest following their season opener and then are back at home for a regular-season game versus Hendrix on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. Centenary faces Millsaps on the road on Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. and then Belhaven comes to town on Nov. 20 at 1 p.m.
Centenary finishes the month of November with an exhibition game at ULM on Nov. 22, then a road game at Ozarks (Ark.) on Nov. 27 and at Hendrix on Nov. 28 at 1 p.m. The Ladies start the month of December on the road to complete a five-game road trip, with games at Birmingham-Southern on Dec. 4 at Noon and then are at Dallas for their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener on Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
The Ladies will face North American University in a non-conference contest at home on Dec. 12 at 3 p.m. and will then play four-straight conference games at home, beginning with a game versus Dallas on Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m. The Ladies then face Trinity on Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. and then Southwestern on Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. and Texas Lutheran on Jan. 1 at 6 p.m.
Five of the Ladies' next seven games are on the road from early January to mid-February. Centenary is at Colorado College on Jan. 7 (7:30 p.m.) and at St. Thomas in Houston on Jan. 9 at 2 p.m. The Ladies welcome Austin College to town on Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. and then rematch with the 'Roos in Sherman, Texas on Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. The Maroon and White then play the Schreiner Mountaineers in consecutive games, at home on Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and in Kerrville, Texas on Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Centenary then finishes the weekend with a road contest at Trinity on Feb. 5 at 4 p.m.
The Ladies will play their final two home games of the regular season versus Colorado College on Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. and St. Thomas on Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. Centenary then closes the regular season with games at Southwestern on Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. and at Texas Lutheran on Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. The 2022 SCAC Championship is scheduled for Feb. 25-27 in Sherman, Texas.
