The Ladies (1-6) and Panthers (4-3) are meeting for the third time and first since Dec. 19, 2017 when Birmingham-Southern recorded a 77-69 win. The Panthers also won the first matchup between the two, 79-77, on Dec. 30, 2012.

Centenary aims to snap a six-game losing streak on Saturday while the Panthers look for their second win in a row following a 119-94 victory at home in a shootout over Mississippi University for Women on Nov. 23.

The Ladies lost 55-46 to the Hendrix College Warriors last Sunday in a non-conference contest on the road. The Maroon and White fell behind 36-16 at halftime but played a much better half, outscoring the Warriors by a count of 30-19 in the second period but the early deficit was too much to overcome.

Sophomore guard Addy Tremie (Sulphur, La.) and junior F Amelia Bagwell (West Monroe, La.) each scored eight points to lead the Maroon and White in scoring. Tremie played all 40 minutes and was 3-12 from the floor and made 2-6 three-point attempts. She also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and added one assist and one steal.

Bagwell came off the bench and played 15 minutes and had six rebounds to go with her eight points. She was 3-6 overall from the field, 2-2 from the free throw line, and had one assist and one blocked shot.

Tremie, one of the league's top scorers, has now reached double figures four times this season and scored a career-high 24 points versus Belhaven on Nov. 20 at home. She has scored eight or more points five times and has hit at least a pair of three-point baskets in a game four times this season. Tremie has also collected at least seven rebounds in a game four times highlighted by a season-high nine at Hendrix last Sunday.

Freshman G Alana Jones (Shreveport) added seven points in 29 minutes and had five rebounds. She was 1-6 from the field and 5-7 from the free throw line.

Junior F Jazzmyn Jones (Normangee, Texas) played 25 minutes and scored seven points. She grabbed two rebounds, shot 3-5 from the floor, was 1-1 from the free throw line, and had one steal. Jones is currently seventh in the SCAC in scoring as she is averaging 12.1 PPG and she has reached double figures in five of Centenary's seven games so far this season.

Senior G Jennae Mayberry (Clovis, Calif.) played 34 minutes and scored five points with nine rebounds, matching Tremie. She tallied a pair of assists, one steal, was 2-2 from the line and hit one trey.

Freshman G Mary Leday (Opelousas, La.) scored seven in 28 minutes. She hit one three pointer and was 2-2 from the free throw line. She grabbed a pair of rebounds, dished out two assists, and had a steal. Junior Destini Powell (Minden, La.) came off the bench and played 20 minutes with four points and six rebounds. She had one steal and was 2-4 from the free throw line.

The Ladies shot 24.6 % overall from the floor for the game and also struggled from three-point range, hitting just 4-18 attempts (22 %). Centenary was solid at the line though, making 14-18 attempts. The Ladies also edged the Warriors, 45-44, on the glass. Centenary finished with six assists, five steals, and a blocked shot.

Centenary will open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at Dallas in a game set for 7:30 p.m.
