
Ladies Set To Face Colorado College On Friday To Begin Final Homestand of Regular Season
The Centenary women's basketball team will play its final two regular-season home games this weekend as the Ladies first face Colorado College in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest set for 7:30 p.m. at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (3-17, 1-11 SCAC) aim to snap an 11-game losing streak against the Tigers (11-11, 8-5 SCAC) before finishing their regular-season home schedule on Sunday afternoon versus St. Thomas on Senior Day. Centenary dropped a pair of road games last weekend to Schreiner on Friday and Trinity on Sunday. Colorado College enters Friday's play riding a four-game winning streak. The Ladies and Tigers are meeting for the second time this season after CC defeated the Maroon and White, 66-52 on Jan. 7 in Colorado Springs.
Junior G Destini Powell (Minden, La.) enters Friday's action as the fifth-highest scorer in the conference this season, averaging a team-high 13.6 points per game. She has now reached double figures an impressive 14 times this season and has done so in 13 of her last 15 games. She scored 18 last Friday at Schreiner and followed that up with a 17-point performance on Sunday against Trinity. Powell is also eighth in the league in rebounding, as she averages 8.0 boards per game. She ranks second in the league in defensive rebounds and is also 10th in free throw % and tied for ninth in 3-point FGs made.
Sophomore guard Addy Tremie (Sulphur, La.) checks in at 11th in the league in scoring, averaging 11.5 PPG, second on the team behind Powell. She has reached double figures 11 times this season and also ranks 10th in the SCAC in rebounding (7.0/game). Tremie is eighth in defensive rebounds, 12th in 3-point FG % and sixth in 3-point FGs made. She is the conference leader in minutes played as she averages 36.9/game and has played all 40 minutes of a game six times this season, four times in conference play.
Junior F Jazzmyn Jones (Normangee, Texas) is 14th in the conference in scoring (10.4 PPG) and 18th in rebounding (5.3/game). Jones is currently sixth in the conference in field-goal percentage (44.5 %) and has scored in double figures 11 times this season. Jones also ranks 11th in offensive rebounds and 15th in blocked shots. Senior G Jennae Mayberry (Clovis, Calif.) is averaging 3.2 PPG and 4.2 rebounds/game along with 1.8 assists per game and is shooting 75.9 % from the free throw line. Mayberry has one double-double this season and has 12 games this season with two or more assists in a game and seven games with two or more steals.
Freshman G Mary Leday (Opelousas, La.) is averaging 4.4 PPG and grabs 2.5 rebounds per game with 1.6 assists per game. The rookie has reached double figures three times this season. Fellow freshman G Alana Jones (Shreveport) averages 4.2 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 1.8 assists per game and 1.2 steals/game. She has reached double figures once and has recorded a pair of double-digit rebounding performances this season, as both came last weekend versus Schreiner and Trinity. Junior F Amelia Bagwell (West Monroe, La.) has three double-digit scoring performances this season with two coming in conference play. She is averaging 5.0 PPG and 4.3 RPG this season. Freshman G Dymon Drumgo (Alexandria, La.) averages 4.6 PPG and 3.0 RPG and has recorded a pair of double-figure scoring games.
The Ladies will honor Mayberry in a pregame ceremony on Sunday prior to their 2 p.m. contest versus St. Thomas.
