The Ladies (1-1) fell at home on Friday night to the Louisiana Christian University Wildcats by a score of 71-56 in a non-conference contest at home. Centenary dropped a 91-50 decision in an exhibition game on Tuesday at Northwestern State after opening its season with a 69-64 victory over LeTourneau on Nov. 5.
Hendrix (0-1) lost its season opener to Ozarks (Ark.) 65-51 on Nov. 5 and dropped a road exhibition contest at Central Arkansas on Friday by a score of 74-35. The Ladies and Warriors are meeting for the first time since Nov. 10, 2019 when Hendrix picked up a 64-57 win in Shreveport.
The Ladies had three players reach double figures on Friday, led by 19 from sophomore guard Addy Tremie (Sulphur, La.) as she shot 6-13 from the field in 39 minutes. She was hot from three-point range, making 5 of her 10 attempts and grabbed four rebounds. She added three steals and an assist and made her two free-throw attempts. Tremie scored in double figures for the ninth time in her young career.
Junior F Jazzmyn Jones (Normangee, Texas) scored 13 points off the bench in just 19 minutes. She made 4 of her 5 field goal attempts and was 5-8 from the free-throw line. She added one rebound and a steal. Junior forward Amelia Bagwell (West Monroe, La.) scored 10 points in her 15 minutes of action and was 2 of 4 from the floor and a perfect 6-6 from the line. She also had one rebound and one steal.
Freshman G Dymon Drumgo (Alexandria, La.) scored a season-high seven points in 24 minutes off the bench. She had a pair of assists and one rebound. Senior guard Jennae Mayberry (Clovis, Calif.) was held scoreless but she grabbed six rebounds but picked up a pair of assists and two steals in 30 minutes. Junior guard Destini Powell (Minden, La.) had a team-best seven rebounds and scored three points in 25 minutes. She had an assist and a steal and freshman G Mary Leday (Opelousas, La.) added four points in 21 minutes with a rebound and a pair of assists. The Ladies shot 34.7 % (17-49) from the field for the game and recorded 10 assists and eight steals.
Centenary will hit the road on Tuesday to face Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. At 6 p.m. and then return home to play Belhaven on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m.
