The Ladies (0-2, 0-1 SCAC) were edged 2-1 by the University of St. Thomas Celts in their home opener and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener last Saturday at home after a 2-0 season-opening loss against ETBU on Sept. 1. Sul Ross (0-2) lost 2-1 at Texas-San Antonio last weekend and is in action on Thursday night in Houston against St. Thomas.

The Ladies fell behind the Celts 2-0 last Saturday but answered with a score, their first goal of the season, as junior D Alexa Hinojosa (Pasadena, Texas) found the net following a corner kick by senior MF/D Gabby McDonald (Pasadena, Texas) in the 82nd minute. The Celts, though, were able to keep the Ladies off of the board for the final nine minutes and secure the win.

Junior GK Karlie Delhommer (St. Amant, La.) played all 90 minutes for the Ladies and allowed the two goals while recording eight saves. St. Thomas finished with a decisive edge in shots (22-6) and took six corner kicks to the Ladies' two. The match featured 33 combined fouls and four yellow cards.

Centenary finishes the weekend with another non-conference home match on Sunday versus Howard Payne University at Noon.
