Shreveport - The Centenary women's soccer team won its second-consecutive match and completed a weekend sweep of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opponents as the Ladies blanked the University of Dallas Crusaders 1-0 on Sunday afternoon at Mayo Field.

The Ladies, who snapped a seven-game losing streak and won for the first time this season on Friday night, 5-1 over Austin College, improved to 2-11-1 overall and 2-6 in league play. The Crusaders, who posted a 1-0 shutout of St. Thomas on Friday in Houston, fell to 4-6- 2 and 3-3-2 in conference play with Sunday's loss.

Centenary held its second opponent scoreless this season after previously doing so in a 0-0 tie at Belhaven on Sept. 13. The Ladies improve to 8-10 all-time versus the Crusaders and won for the first time in three matches against them.

The Ladies wasted no time in taking the lead on Sunday as senior MF/D Gabby McDonald (Pasadena, Texas) found the net just over a minute into the match to give the Maroon and White an early 1-0 advantage. McDonald, who scored the first of Centenary's five goals in its rout of the 'Roos on Friday, now has two goals this season and 11 in her career as she is tied for seventh place in the division III era (2011-present) in goals scored.

The stingy Centenary defense made that lead stand for the next 89 minutes as sophomore GK Madison Ersoff (Shreveport, La.) played all 90 minutes and made three saves. Dallas GK Briana Salinas also went the distance and made five saves.

Centenary finished with a 17-10 advantage in shots, each team took four corner kicks, and 17 fouls were called -nine on the Ladies and eight on the Crusaders. Seven Ladies played all 90 minutes and three Crusaders played the entire match.

The Ladies are back on the road in conference play next weekend to face Texas Lutheran (Friday, Oct. 14 – 6 PM) and Southwestern (Sunday, Oct. 16 – 2:30 PM).
