Shreveport - The Centenary women's basketball team will face the LeTourneau University YellowJackets on Wednesday evening in its home opener, a non-conference contest set for 5:30 p.m. at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (0-2) seek their first win of the season as they play on their home court for the first time in the regular season after one previous appearance, an 88-48 loss to the LSUS Lady Pilots in an exhibition game on Nov. 1. Centenary lost its season opener at Jarvis Christian, 72-51, on Nov., 8 and dropped a 69-35 decision at Wiley University on Saturday.
LeTourneau (1-1) fell 70-59 at Texas Lutheran University in its season opener on Nov. 8 and defeated Southwestern University, 58-45, at home on Saturday.
The Ladies are 8-6 all-time versus LeTourneau and the two teams played a memorable game last season in Longview, Texas with the YellowJackets claiming a 67-60 win in overtime.

Scoring: Sophomore G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) – 8.5 PPG
Rebounding: Junior G Alana Jones (Shreveport, La.) – 8.0 PPG
Assists: Barrow – 2.0/game
Blocks: Senior F Amelia Bagwell (West Monroe, La.) – 1.5/game
Steals: Jones – 2.5/game
Barrow scored 10 against Wiley after posting seven points against Jarvis Christian. Jones averaged 6.5 PPG and 8.0 rebounds/game against Jarvis Christian and Wiley. She also shot 78.6 % from the free-throw line and grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds on Saturday at Wiley and added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Bagwell scored seven points at Jarvis Christian with four rebounds, three blocked shots, and a steal.
Sophomore F Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas) is averaging 7.5 PPG, sophomore F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) is averaging 7.0 PPG, sophomore G TaNyjah Plumber (Kinder, La.) is averaging 4.0, Bagwell is at 3.5, and sophomore G Madison Davis (Shreveport, La.) averages 2.0.
