Pineville, La. - The Centenary women's basketball team dropped an 88-67 decision to the Louisiana Christian University Wildcats in a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening at H.O. West Fieldhouse.

The Ladies fall to 1-10 on the season while the Wildcats improved to 5-3 with the win. Four Ladies reached double figures led by 15 points from sophomore G TaNyjah Plumber (Kinder, La.).

The Wildcats outscored the Ladies in the first quarter, 18-14, and 22-16 in the second to take a 40-30 halftime lead. Louisiana Christian created some separation with a 23-13 advantage in the third quarter and edged the Ladies 25-24 in the final 10 minutes to secure the win.

Centenary shot the ball well, finishing an even 40 % (22-55) from the floor for the game and it marked the second-best shooting effort of the season for the Maroon and White after also shooting 40 % against Southern Arkansas last month. The Ladies' top mark of the season was 41.3 % at Hendrix on Nov. 25 in an 80-69 win. Centenary finished 7-22 (31.8 %) from beyond the arc and 16-28 from the free throw line on Tuesday.

Louisiana Christian finished 36-82 from the floor for 43.9 %, 7-20 from 3-point range for 35 % and 9-16 from the FT line for 56.3 %. Three Wildcats scored in double figures led by a game-high 28 points from Princis Goff. LCU dominated in the paint, outscoring Centenary 48-24, had 35 second-chance points to the Ladies' nine, had a 23-11 edge in fast break points, and 25-15 advantage in bench points.

The Wildcats also cleaned up on the glass, finishing with a decisive advantage (54-33) in rebounding. Centenary turned the ball over 16 times while LCU gave it away 14 times. LCU scored 16 points off of turnovers and Centenary scored 13. The Ladies finished with 13 assists, four steals, and two blocked shots while the Wildcats tallied 25 assists, 11 steals, and three blocked shots.

Plumber also grabbed six rebounds to go with her team-high 15 points as she reached double figures for the fourth time this season. She was 6-10 at the free throw line with three treys, four assists, two blocks, and a steal in 38 minutes. Sophomore F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) was next in line with 13 points and grabbed a team-high eight boards in her 19 minutes. She was 5-8 from the floor and 3-4 from the FT line. Sophomore G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) had 12 points on 4-5 shooting in 24 minutes. Barrow, the Ladies' leading scorer this season entering the game, was 4-5 from the floor, 1-2 from beyond the arc, and 3-8 at the FT line with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Freshman G Mallory Dougharty (Evadale, Texas) scored a season-high 11 points and reached double figures for the first time. She came off the bench and played 29 minutes as she added a rebound, an assist, and a steal and was 4-6 from the floor, 1-2 from beyond the arc, and 2-2 at the FT line. Sophomore F Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas) scored nine points in 25 minutes as she was 3-9 from the floor, 1-3 from beyond the arc, and 2-2 at the FT line with three rebounds and two assists. Sophomore G Madison Davis (Shreveport, La.) scored three points with two assists and a rebound, and freshman G Kira Latson (Pearland, Texas), and freshman F Yadneli Molina (Vinton, La.) each scored two points.

Deja Tanks scored 14 points for LCU, Olivia Scott had 12, and Kaitlyn Antilley scored eight. Five others combined for 26 points. Goff added 10 rebounds to her game-high 28 points for an impressive double-double as she finished 12-19 from the floor in 29 minutes and was 4-7 from the FT line with five steals and two assists. Tanks grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds and had an assist and a blocked shot.

Centenary will be back in action at home for a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on New Year's Eve against Colorado College in a matinee set for 2 p.m. inside the Gold Dome.
