Seguin, Texas - The Centenary women's basketball team fell 85-48 to the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs on Friday evening in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest inside Memorial Gymnasium.

The Ladies (2-19, 1-12 SCAC) will face Southwestern (4-19, 3-11 SCAC) on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Georgetown, Texas. The Pirates lost 72-49 to St. Thomas at home on Friday night. Saturday's game is the final road contest in the regular season for Centenary.

Centenary shot 32.6 % (14-43) on the night from the floor, 20 % (4-20) from beyond the arc, and a strong 84.2 % (16-19) from the free throw line. The Bulldogs finished 29-75 for 38.7 %, went 12-33 from 3-point range for 36.4 % and 15-21 from the FT line for 71.4 %. The Bulldogs outrebounded the Ladies 44-34 and forced 29 Centenary turnovers while the Bulldogs turned the ball over just nine times.

TLU scored 32 points in the paint, 25 points off of turnovers, 16 second-chance points, 13 fast break points, and finished with a 39-0 advantage in bench points. Centenary had 12 points in the paint, scored three points off of turnovers, six second-chance points, and eight fast break points. The Ladies finished with eight assists, four steals, and four blocked shots and the Bulldogs had 26 assists, 13 steals, and one block.

Sophomore G TaNyjah Plumber (Kinder, La.) led the Ladies with 17 points on 4-13 shooting in 36 minutes. She was 8-10 at the FT line with one trey, four rebounds, two assists and one steal. She reached double figures for the 13th time this season. Sophomore G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) scored 12 in 38 minutes as she was also 4-13 from the floor, 1-5 from beyond the arc, and 3-3 from the FT line. She grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and had two assists and she scored in double figures for the 15th time.

Sophomore F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) and sophomore F Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas) each scored seven points and Senior F Amelia Bagwell (West Monroe, La.) scored five. freshman G Kira Latson (Pearland, Texas) and freshman G Nyla Stevenson (Centerville, La.) each played but did not score. Latson played a season-high 33 minutes and grabbed two rebounds with one steal and Stevenson made her season debut as she played 12 minutes and grabbed a pair of rebounds.

Kailee Mulkey led all scorers with 18 points and was one of two TLU players in double figures as Madison Malone added 11 off the bench. All 14 players who saw action in the game for the Bulldogs scored at least one point. Lauren Sansano scored nine, Tanyse Moehrig and Davi'Yanna Jones each scored seven, Angelina Sotelo had six, and Kayla Presley and Kailey Lacy each added five and Lacy had a team-best seven rebounds.

TLU led 22-14 after one quarter and then edged Centenary 17-16 in the second to lead 39-30 at halftime. The Bulldogs then distanced themselves from the Ladies with a 26-8 edge in the third quarter and doubled up the Maroon and White in the final quarter, 20-10.
