Shreveport - The Centenary women's basketball team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Ladies snapped a 13-game losing streak with a thrilling 61-59 overtime win over the University of St. Thomas Celts last Tuesday night in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play inside the Gold Dome.
Centenary edged St. Thomas 13-12 in the fourth to knot the game at 56-56 and send it to overtime, where the Ladies outscored the Celts in a low-scoring extra period, 5-3. The Ladies outrebounded the Celts 53-48, grabbing a season-high number of rebounds – two more than their 51 at Dallas on Dec. 2.
Sophomore F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) had a monster game for the Ladies as she tied her career high with 19 points and added a career-high 15 rebounds. She scored in double figures for the seventh time this season and notched her third double-digit rebounding performance and first double-double. She played 41 minutes and was 5-10 from the floor and 9-10 at the FT line with four blocked shots and an assist.
Sophomore G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) scored 17 points in 40 minutes on 7-13 shooting with seven rebounds, three steals, and one assist. She was 2-4 from the FT line and 1-3 from beyond the arc and reached double figures for the 13th time this season.

The Ladies return to action next weekend with games at Texas Lutheran University (Friday, Feb. 9) and Southwestern University (Feb. 10).
