Tennis opens up at Southern Wesleyan

CENTRAL, S.C. - The Brevard College Women's Tennis team opened up their 2017 season against Southern Wesleyan. The women battled through an injury, falling to the Warriors seven games to one.

Freshmen Carmen Boone (Hudson, N.C.) and Gabi Harness (East Flat Rock, N.C.) were credited with the only win for the Tornados in a doubles match.

Kelsey Kushner (Tampa, Fla.) fell to Jennifer Ball 6-1 both sets in the singles match at the No. 1 position.

Kushner and Sam Miranda (Valley City, Ohio) fell 8-2 against Aimee Dorley and Kristi Cooper at the No. 1 position in doubles. The Tornados lost the doubles round 2-1 and singles 6-1. Although the No. 6 game was not played due to a Tornado injury.

Brevard will look to bounce back as they open up conference play against Coker on Sunday, Feb. 5, beginning at 1 p.m.
