Tennis falls to Mars Hill 9-0

MARS HILLS, N.C. - The Brevard College Women's Tennis team (1-15, 0-7 SAC) fell by a final of 9-0 to the Mars Hill University Lions (5-10, 1-8) Saturday, afternoon on the road in Mars Hill, N.C.

Following a loss at No. 3 doubles by forfeit to open the afternoon, the Tornados No. 2 and No. 1 tandems fell 8-1, as Kelsey Kushner (Tampa, Fla.) and Sam Miranda (Valley City, Ohio) lost to Jasha Geerdink and Evan Lake, while Carmen Boone (Hudson, N.C.) and Katie Hatter (Cedar Mountain, N.C.) fell to Jade Henke and Dante Hart.

In singles play, Brevard's dropped No. 2 and No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0, as both Miranda and Hatter fell in straight sets. Kushner and Boone each took a point in the final game at No. 1 and No. 4 singles, respectively, loosing by a final of 6-0, 6-1. While freshman Audrey Cardwell (Denver, N.C.) lost 6-2, 6-1 to Hannah Hill at No. 5 singles.

The Tornados will return back to action on Monday, Mar. 27 as they host the Anderson University Trojans, doubles action is set to get underway at 12 noon.
