HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Brevard College Women's Tennis team (1-11) fell 9-0 to Lawrence Tech (5-5) on Friday afternoon in the Hilton Head Spring Break Tournament.

Kelsey Kushner (Tampa, Fla.) battled hard for two tough sets against Carolyn McCullen at the No. 1 spot. In set one, Kushner took four games, falling 6-4. The freshman dropped the final set 6-2. Carmen Boone (Hudson, N.C.) fought back in the second set for a close battle at the No. 4 spot. After falling 6-2 in the first set, Boone took four games in the final set, losing 6-4. Freshman Gabi Harness (East Flat Rock, N.C.) won four games in her second set against Sarah Burgess at the No. 5 position.

Lawrence Tech swept the doubles competition, as Kushner and Sam Miranda (Valley City, Ohio) fell 8-2 against Carolyn McCulleen and Sabrina Mateos at the No. 1 spot. Boone and Katie Hatter (Cedar Mountain, N.C.) dropped an 8-1 match against Ana Hernandez Munt and Brittany Schmidt in the No. 2 position.

The Tornados will wrap up the Hilton Head Spring Break Tennis Fest bright and early tomorrow morning against Asbury at 8:30 a.m.
