Women?s Tennis falls to Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. The Brevard College Women's Tennis team (0-6) fell to the Royals of Queens University (2-1, 2-0 SAC) in Saturday afternoon's conference showdown.

The Tornados were playing with a short roster falling 9-0 to the Royals, with three games not being played due to not enough participants. In the doubles competition Sam Miranda (Valley City, Ohio) and Kelsey Kushner (Tampa, Fla.) took one game at the No. 1 spot for doubles, falling to Hannah Lehfeldt and Claire Hamilton 8-1. Carmen Boone (Hudson, N.C.) and Katie Hatter (Cedar Mountain, N.C.) fell to Jaclyn Rock and Jacklyn Pfuhl 8-0.

Queens swept the singles competition winning every set 6-0 to capture the win over Brevard. The women will have a quick turnaround as they travel to Converse for a nonconference battle beginning at 1 p.m tomorrow afternoon.
