Tornados drop 9-0 match to No. 33 Bulldogs.

WINGATE, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Tennis team (1-18, 1-10 SAC) dropped a 9-0 decision to the No. 33 nationally ranked Wingate University Bulldogs (12-2, 8-0 SAC), on the road Sunday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference tennis action.

The Tornados fell 3-0 in doubles play as freshman Gabi Harness (East Flat Rock, N.C.) and Carmen Boone (Hudson, N.C.) lost 8-0 at No. 3, while junior Katie Hatter (Cedar Mountain, N.C.) and freshman Audrey Cardwell (Denver, N.C.) suffered a similar 8-1 loss at No. 2. Brevard's No.1 doubles tandem of Kelsey Kushner (Tampa, Fla.) and Sam Miranda (Valley City, Ohio) managed to take two games of Wingates Oroma Womeodu and Maria Garcie, falling by a final of 8-2.

Singles play would belong to the Bulldogs as the Tornados were unable to take a game off the national powerhouse and SAC rival, loosing 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 through No. 4 singles, while dropping No. 5 singles by a final of 8-0 and No. 6, 6-0, 6-0.

The Tornados will close out the regular season this coming Saturday, Apr. 9 as they host the Newberry College Wolves for senior day at the Brevard Tennis Complex, doubles action is schedule to get underway at 1 p.m.
