Tennis falls 9-0 to Anderson

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Tennis team (1-16, 0-8 SAC) fell 9-0 to the Anderson University Trojans (13-3, 6-1 SAC), Monday in conference tennis action.

Anderson would take a 3-0 lead following doubles play as the Tornados No. 3 team of Carmen Boone (Hudson, N.C.) and Gabi Harness (East Flat Rock, N.C.) dropped an 8-0 decision, while Katie Hatter (Cedar Mountain, N.C.) and Audrey Cardwell (Denver, N.C.) and Kelsey Kushner (Tampa, Fla.) and Sam Miranda (Valley City, Ohio), both fell 8-1 at No. 2 and No. 1 doubles, respectively.

In singles action, the Tornados best performance came at No. 5 as Cardwell picked up two points in the second set, falling 6-0, 6-2. While Kushner, Miranda, Hatter and Boone all went down 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 through No. 4 singles, respectively. Brevard would drop No. 6 singles by a 6-0, 6-0 final as Harness fell to Elizabeth Beachy in straight sets.

Brevard returns to action this coming weekend, Saturday, Apr. 1 as they host the Carson-Newman University Eagles at 1 p.m.
