Shreveport – The Centenary volleyball team dropped its season opener by a score of 3-0 to the Louisiana Christian University Wildcats on day one of the "Cajun Country Classic" in a non-conference match on Friday evening at the Gold Dome.
The Ladies (0-1) return to action on Saturday for a pair of matches – at 9 a.m. versus Howard Payne University (2-0) and then at 1 p.m. against Millsaps College (0-1). LCU faces Millsaps on Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Wildcats won the first set 25-15 and then took sets two and three by the identical score of 25-9 to sweep the match. LCU rebounded from a 3-1 loss earlier in the day to Howard Payne.
The Ladies finished with 27 digs, 15 kills, 14 assists, three aces, and three solo blocks while the Wildcats tallied 47 digs, 36 kills, 34 assists, 10 aces, and one solo block.

Senior MB/OH Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) and sophomore OH Alyssa Gatlin (Spring, Texas) each had three kills and freshman OH Aaliyah Barnett (Dickinson, Texas) had two digs. Senior OH Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) recorded two digs, two kills, and a solo block. Smith added five digs, four assists, and a kill, Bagley added a dig, Gatlin had a dig, and Nagot had an assist. Henderson also had two digs and two kills while Hinze had one ace. Sophomore OH Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) had a pair of digs and sophomore LB/DS Yadneli Molina (Vinton, La.) had three digs.
