Volleyball Swept By St. Thomas At Home
The Centenary volleyball team was swept by the University of St. Thomas Celts in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon inside the Gold Dome.

Shreveport - The Centenary volleyball team was swept by the University of St. Thomas Celts in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon inside the Gold Dome.
The Ladies (1-14, 0-6 SCAC) were swept by Colorado College in conference play on Saturday are now 1-7 at home this season. The Celts (9-8, 4-2 SCAC) shook off a sweep against Austin College on Saturday and are now 2-4 on the road.

The Celts took set one by a score of 25-12, won a competitive set two, 25-21, and closed out the sweep in set three – 25-9.
The Ladies finished with 38 digs, 24 kills, 23 assists, three solo blocks, and three aces while the Celts tallied 53 digs, 44 kills, 40 assists, and five aces.
Ladies' Statistical Leaders:
Aces: Sophomore OH Alyssa Gatlin (Spring, Texas) – 3
Assists: Junior S Kristi Hinze (Shepherd, Texas) – 18
Blocks (Solo): Sophomore MB Reign McArthur (Midlothian, Texas) – 2
Digs: Junior LB Daly Nagot (Benton, La.) – 13
Kills: Gatlin – 7
Freshman OH Aaliyah Barnett (Dickinson, Texas) had a solid match with six digs, six kills, and one assist while sophomore MB Bailee Henderson (Monroe, La.) finished with two digs, two kills, and a solo block. Sophomore OH Mackenzie Haley (Orange, Texas) tallied six kills and freshman LB Charlie Wedding (Longview, Texas) posted three digs.
Nagot added a pair of assists to go with her team-high 13 digs, Hinze had seven digs and two kills along with her team-best 18 assists, Gatlin also had one assist and led the team in both aces and kills, and McArthur chipped in one assist and one kill to go with her team-high two solo blocks.
Match two recap: Celts 3 Ladies 0
The Celts took set one by a score of 25-18, won set two, 25-11, and closed out the sweep in set three after a 25-15 score.
The Ladies finished with 47 digs, 23 kills, 23 assists, six aces, and one solo block, while the Celts tallied 59 digs, 40 kills, 39 assists, and 10 aces.

Senior OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) made her season debut as she has been out due to injury and had an ace, an assist, and two digs. Sophomore LB/DS Yadneli Molina (Vinton, La.) had two digs and an ace and Wedding had three digs.
Barnett finished with five kills and a dig, Nagot had 12 digs, an ace and an assist, and Gatlin added five digs and an ace. Haley tallied four digs, two kills and an assist and Henderson had seven kills and a dig.
The Ladies will hit the road next weekend for three conference matches in Abilene, Texas as McMurry University will be the host. Centenary will play Schreiner University, Texas Lutheran University, and Concordia University Oct. 12-13.
