Ladies Swept At Home By McMurry
The Centenary volleyball team was swept by the McMurry University War Hawks on Friday evening in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match in the Gold Dome.

Shreveport - The Centenary volleyball team was swept by the McMurry University War Hawks on Friday evening in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match in the Gold Dome.
The Ladies (1-22, 0-12 SCAC) and War Hawks (12-11, 7-5 SCAC) were meeting for the second time this season after McMurry recorded a sweep back on Sept. 21 in Abilene, Texas.
Friday's match was a competitive one, despite it finishing in a sweep. McMurry rallied to win set one, 25-21, then won set two 25-16, and closed it out 25-18 in set three.
The Ladies finished with 56 digs, 30 kills, 29 assists, four service aces, and one solo block. The War Hawks tallied 64 digs, 36 kills, 35 assists, and 13 aces.
Centenary led 10-6 midway through set one, but McMurry went on a 9-5 run to tie the score at 15-15. Later it was tied at 20-20, but the War Hawks finished on a 5-1 run to win the set. The Ladies' .220 hitting percentage in set one was their best of the match as they finished with 14 kills and only five errors in 41 total attacks.

The Ladies will face the University of Dallas on Sunday at Noon. The Lades' 2024 senior class will be honored in a ceremony on Sunday prior to the match at 11:45 a.m.
