Centenary fell 3-0 to the University of Texas-Dallas Comets on Tuesday evening in a non-conference contest in Richardson, Texas while McMurry opened league play with a 3-1 home loss to Austin College, its first home match of the season.
The Ladies lost the first set on Tuesday by a score of 25-15, set two by a count of 25-11, and the Comets closed out the sweep with a 25-12 win in set three. Centenary finished with 26 digs, 14 kills, 12 assists, and one solo block.

Following the completion of the regular season, the top three teams from each division, plus the next two best conference records (regardless of division), will compete in a single-elimination tournament, November 15 and 16, to determine the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament. Austin College and University of Dallas will both host quarterfinal matches on Friday, followed by both of Friday's semifinal matches as well as Saturday's championship match contested at Austin College.
