Junior Aspen Hattley Provides this Week's Gym Talk!

Hello Ladies Gymnastics fans!

This is junior Aspen Hattley signing in to bring you this week's Gym Talk! As we enter October, we have some exciting things "rocking" this month! In our open gyms, the Ladies have been on fire with getting full sets done! Big shout-outs to those bar stars who have been swinging big and to the beam queens whose skills look effortless and flawless! The floor roars have been working some magic with some big tumbling passes and dynamic leaps, and starting to get those conditioning routines going, while our vault shakers have been punching and flipping high in the sky. I cannot wait to see all this magic come together!

Starting off this month, we had fall break to either go home and spend time with family we've missed so much or travel away for mini vacations! I know everyone was very excited to have time off to rest and rejuvenate, but sadly, this break has been too long and I am ready to be back with my Ladies!

Another exciting thing that's happening is… *cues drumroll* PRACTICE AND INTRASQUAD! We have been preparing for our first team intrasquad happening Sunday, October 15. Everyone has been working so hard in the open gyms these past two months to reach our goals of full sets on each event and being physically and mentally prepared for this moment! This will also give a sneak peek for the freshmen of how competition day will operate!

Another highlight we've been preparing for is our annual Centenary Ladies Gymnastics Team Retreat! We will all gather at the lake shack and work on team goals, getting to know each other a little bit better with team building and bonding activities, fellowship with each other, and most importantly, to present our Team Covenants. This will set our teams foundation to develop a positive environment and to give us a road map of how we want our team to look, inside and outside the gym! This weekend sets off our season as we build towards a team competing for a National Championship!

In the classroom, the Ladies have been rocking. We are at mid-term and everyone has had tests, papers, and presentations in all their classes. We have been working hard to continue reaching for our goal of a high team GPA! I am so proud of how everyone is pushing themselves in school and in the gym, staying on top of their work, being focused, helping each other, and setting the bar of what a hard-working student athlete should be. We are all ready to see what this season has in store for us! GO LADIES!

Tune in next week to see how our weekend went! Have a great week!
