Junie B, Navi J. here presenting you with this week's gym talk! Boy, did the Ladies have an exciting weekend last week, with our first win of the season against SEMO on Friday and our season high at a quad meet against TWU, Bridgeport, and SEMO on Sunday!
Building up to our successes last weekend, the Ladies were busy getting into the grind of school as we returned to class from our much-loved Mardi Gras break. Now that we are well into season, the Ladies came into the gym super focused on hitting the routines we have spent all year perfecting and improving: Cleaning up every little detail because every tenth counts! Clearly our hard work paid off, as we won our first meet of the season and put up a team score of 191.175 against Southeast Missouri State University! I am so incredibly proud of my fellow Ladies! We did amazing and I cannot wait to see where we go with the rest of this season!
Shout out to seniors Ashley White and Kaity Mussio for making it all the way through their college careers in one piece (lol) and competing some stunning gymnastics! I am so sad this is our last year competing together and I love you both! I cannot wait to see where your adult lives take you! I know you'll both be crazy successful in everything you do!
Shout out to junior Natalie Scates for competing some gorgeous bars this weekend! Your resilience is awe-inspiring! Kudos to senior Kaity Mussio, again, for her floor debut this past Friday! Also, big shout out to freshie Jenny Jackson for competing her upgraded yurchenko tuck full on vault!! I am so proud of how far you have come this season alone, and I can't wait to see how much you grow in the next year and a half! Finally, shout out to ALL my Ladies for posting our season high of 191.825 this Sunday at TWU! I am beyond stoked about this triumph and I am so excited to continue to build to greater things! We did it y'all! Let's keep it up and keep moving forward!!
Overall, the Ladies had a booming weekend and we are going to continue to strive for greatness so stay tuned because there's DEFINITELY more to come! ;)
