Ladies Gymnastics Falls to Lindenwood, Alaska

CHARLES, Mo. - The Centenary gymnastics team could not overcome a tough first rotation on bars, but recorded a season high score of 184.125, finishing third of three teams in a quad meet at fellow Midwest Independent Conference-member Lindenwood Friday night, January 19.

Lindenwood won the meet with a 194.500 while Alaska scored a 188.300.

The best rotation of the night for the Ladies came on floor, receiving a 47.875 total. Junior Navia Jordan and sophomore Cami Bea Austin both received season bests of 9.700 to finish fifth. Junior Aspen Hattley received a career high 9.450 on the event.

Other highlights include freshman Jerrica Harris receiving a 9.500 in her first collegiate competition on beam. Junior Tavia Smith finished third in the all-around with a 37.125, recording a 9.550 on floor, 9.425 on vault, 9.300 on beam, and an 8.850 on bars.

Lindenwood swept all individual events, led by Kierstin Sokolowski's 9.825 on both vault and beam. Isabelle Fox of Alaska won the all-around with a total of 38.425.

Centenary returns to action the first weekend in February when it faces Texas Woman's twice in the Gold Dome. The Ladies face the Pioneers on February 2 at 12:30 p.m. and February 4 at 2 p.m.
