  • Women's Volleyball Announces 2020 Recruiting Class

    Centenary women’s volleyball head coach Ashley McDonough has announced her 2020 recruiting class. The class includes 11 incoming student-athletes, seven from Texas, three from Louisiana, and one from California. Below is brief information and a quote from McDonough on each student-athlete.
  • Marissa Sandoval Named Libero of the Year by LSWA
    December 16, 2019
    Centenary senior Marissa Sandoval was named the Libero of the Year on the 2019 All-Louisiana Volleyball Team, it was announced by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association on Monday. Sandoval (San Antonio, Texas) had a superb senior season for the Ladies as she collected 754 total digs, the third-highest total in the nation in division III. That number was the most by any division III player in the regular season and a Centenary division III era single-season record. Her 1,993 career digs are the most in program history in the division III era and she also set the record for digs in a single match (47) set this season in a 3-2 win over Schreiner on Oct. 19. Centenary also finished third in the nation in division III (first after the regular season) in team digs with 2,642.
  • Volleyball Drops Final Match Of Season, 3-0, At Home

    The Centenary volleyball team dropped its regular-season finale by a score of 3-0 on Friday to Texas-Dallas in non-conference match at the Gold Dome. The Ladies finish their their 2019 season at 11-24 overall and 7-11 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
  • Volleyball Closes Regular Season At Home On Friday

    The Centenary volleyball team will close its regular season with a non-conference match against the University of Texas at Dallas Comets on Friday in a match set for 6 p.m. in the Gold Dome. Two Ladies' seniors, Kristian Loving (Tyler, Texas) and Marissa Sandoval (San Antonio, Texas), along with team manager Taylor Morgan, will be honored in a special pregame ceremony beginning at approximately 5:45 p.m. The Ladies are 4-4 at home this season.
  • Volleyball Splits Pair Of Matches In SCAC Play On Sunday
    October 27, 2019
    The Centenary volleyball team split a pair of matches in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Divisional #2 hosted by Austin College at the Richardson Center and the Hughley Gymnasium. The Ladies (11-23, 7-11 SCAC) took care of Johnson and Wales, 3-1, in their first match of the day in the Richardson Center as they easily won the first set 25-14, lost set two by a score of 25-22, and then won sets three and four by identical scores of 25-20 to clinch the match.
  • Volleyball Drops Pair Of SCAC Matches On Saturday

    The Centenary volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday to Texas Lutheran and Trinity in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Divisional #2 hosted by Austin College. The Ladies (10-22, 6-10 SCAC) will wrap up the weekend with two more matches on Sunday as the Maroon and White face Johnson and Wales at 2 p.m. and host Austin College at 6 p.m. Centenary lost both matches on Saturday 3-0.
  • Volleyball Travels To Texas For SCAC Cross Divisional

    The Centenary volleyball team returns to conference play this weekend as the Ladies take part in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Divisional #2 hosted by Austin College. Centenary will be joined by host Austin, Johnson and Wales, Texas Lutheran, and Trinity. The Ladies will face Texas Lutheran on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Trinity at 7 p.m. Centenary will meet Johnson and Wales on Sunday at 2 p.m. and Austin College at 6 p.m.
  • Volleyball Drops Non-Conference Match At Grambling
    October 23, 2019
    The Centenary volleyball team lost a five-set match to the Grambling State Lady Tigers on Tuesday evening at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. The Ladies (10-20) lost to the Lady Tigers for the second time this season in five sets after falling, 3-2, at home back on Oct. 3. Grambling improved to 7-17 with the win. Centenary took a 1-0 lead in the match by taking set one, 24-16 and then Grambling edged the Ladies, 24-23 in set two. The Ladies claimed set three, 25-21, and then Grambling won a close set four, 27-25. The Lady Tigers then clinched the match with a 15-13 score in set five.
  • Volleyball To Face Grambling On Road Tuesday

    The Centenary volleyball team will face the Grambling Lady Tigers in a non-conference match set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. The Ladies (10-19, 6-8 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) went 1-3 this past weekend in the SCAC Group A Divisional #2 tournament hosted by the University of Dallas in Irving. Centenary split a pair of matches on Saturday, defeating Schreiner, 3-2, and losing a tough match to Dallas, 3-2.
  • Volleyball Splits Pair Of Matches On Final Day Of SCAC Group A Divisional
    October 20, 2019
    The Centenary volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday on the final day of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Group A Divisional #2 tournament hosted by the University of Dallas at the Maher Center in Irving.  The Ladies (10-19, 6-8 SCAC) defeated Schreiner, 3-2, and lost to Dallas 3-2 on Saturday.
  • Volleyball Falls To Southwestern, 3-0

    The Centenary volleyball team fell, 3-0, to Southwestern in its first match of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Group A Divisional #2 tournament on Friday at the Maher Center.  The Ladies (9-17, 5-6 SCAC) will play again this evening against Colorado College at 5 p.m. The event, hosted by the University of Dallas, is a two-day event and the Maroon and White will face Schreiner and Dallas on Saturday at Noon and 6 p.m. respectively. 
  • Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches On Friday

    The Centenary volleyball team fell, 3-0, to Colorado College in its second match of the day on Friday in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Group A Divisional #2 tournament on Friday at the Maher Center in Irving.  The Ladies (9-18, 5-7 SCAC) also fell 3-0 to Southwestern in its first match earlier in the day of the event hosted by the University of Dallas. The Maroon and White will face Schreiner and Dallas on Saturday at Noon and 6 p.m. respectively. 
  • Volleyball To Play In SCAC Divisional This Weekend In Texas
    October 17, 2019
    The Centenary volleyball team will take part in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Group A Divisional #2 tournament this weekend in Irving, Texas. The event, hosted by the University of Dallas, will be played Friday, Oct. 18 and Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Maher Center. The Ladies (9-16, 5-5 SCAC) will face Southwestern at 11 a.m. on Friday and Colorado College at 5 p.m. Friday and then square off with Schreiner on Saturday at Noon and finish up against Dallas at 6 p.m. Saturday.

    The Centenary volleyball team split a pair of matches on Friday in the University of Texas-Dallas Tri-Match at the UTD Activity Center in Richardson.  The Ladies (9-16) are 3-3 in their last six matches after going 2-2 last weekend at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross-Divisional Tournament hosted by Schreiner University in Kerrville.

    The Centenary volleyball team will participate in the University of Texas-Dallas Tri-Match this weekend at the UTD Activity Center in Richardson as the Ladies face Belhaven on Friday at 5 p.m. and then meet Texas-Dallas at 7 p.m. Centenary (8-15) went 2-2 last weekend at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross-Divisional Tournament hosted by Schreiner University in Kerrville.

    The Centenary volleyball team went 1-1 on the final day of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross-Divisional Tournament hosted by Schreiner University at the SU Event Center on Sunday. The Ladies (8-15, 5-5 SCAC) went 2-2 during the weekend, sweeping Johnson and Wales, 3-0, and dropping a tough five-set match to Austin College Sunday. Centenary split a pair of matches on Saturday, dropping a match to Trinity in their opening match and defeating Texas Lutheran in five sets.

    The Centenary volleyball team split a pair of matches on day one of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross-Divisional Tournament hosted by Schreiner University at the SU Event Center. The Ladies (7-14, 4-4 SCAC) lost 3-0 to Trinity in their opening match but came back with a five-set victory (3-2) over Texas Lutheran to close out Saturday's action.

    The Centenary volleyball team will participate in the SCAC Cross-Divisional Tournament this weekend hosted by Schreiner University.  The Ladies (6-13) face Trinity in the first match of the event on Friday at 11 a.m. on court one. The Maroon and White then square off with Texas Lutheran at 3 p.m. on court #2. On Sunday, Centenary faces Johnson and Wales at 10 a.m. and then closes play against Austin College at 4 p.m. 
  • Volleyball Drops Match to Grambling In Five Sets
    October 03, 2019
    The Centenary volleyball team dropped a non-conference nail biter to the Grambling Lady Tigers in five sets on Thursday evening inside the Gold Dome.  The Ladies fell to 6-13 overall while Grambling improved to 7-11. The Ladies started the match out hot, taking the first two sets (25-18, 25-22) but then Grambling responded with a 25-21 victory in set three and won the fourth set, 25-18. After a 10-10 tie, the Lady Tigers went on a run to end the set and win, 15-10. The match was tied 27 times and the lead changed 10 times.

    The Centenary volleyball team will face the Grambling State University Lady Tigers to town for a non-conference match set for Thursday at 6 p.m. inside the Gold Dome. The Ladies (6-12) swept the Jarvis Christian Lady Bulldogs, 3-0, on Tuesday evening in a non-conference match. Centenary improved to 4-3 at home and earned their second sweep of the season. Centenary won the match with scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-17 over the Lady Bulldogs.
  • Volleyball Sweeps Jarvis Christian at Home

    The Centenary volleyball team swept the Jarvis Christian Lady Bulldogs, 3-0, on Tuesday evening in a non-conference match at the Gold Dome. The Ladies (6-12) improved to 4-3 at home and earned their second sweep of the season. Centenary won the match with scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-17 over the Lady Bulldogs.
  • Volleyball Returns Home to Face Jarvis Christian

    The Centenary volleyball team returns home to face Jarvis Christian in a non-conference match set for Tuesday at 6 p.m. inside the Gold Dome. The Ladies (5-12) lost at St. Thomas, 3-1, on Saturday in Houston in their last action in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Maroon and White is 3-3 in SCAC play this season. Centenary and Jarvis Christian will meet for the six-consecutive season with Centenary holding a 6-3 all-time mark against the Lady Bulldogs, including three-straight wins in the series.
  • Volleyball Drops Weekend match at St. Thomas
    September 29, 2019
    The Centenary volleyball team fell in four sets, 3-1, to the St. Thomas Celts on Saturday at the Jerabeck Center. The Ladies fell to 5-12 overall and 3-3 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play. St. Thomas improved to 4-8 and 2-4 SCAC in their home opener. The two teams split the season series as the ladies defeated the Celts back on Sept. 14 in a five-set thriller at home.
  • Volleyball Heads To Houston To Meet St. Thomas in SCAC Play

    The Centenary volleyball team will face the St. Thomas Celts on Saturday in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match set for 3 p.m. at the Jerabeck Center.  The Ladies (5-11, 3-2 SCAC) dropped a non-conference match to the East Texas Baptist University Tigers, 3-0, on Tuesday in the Gold Dome, snapping their two-game winning streak, but are 4-4 in its last eight matches.
  • Volleyball Team Falls to ETBU at Home, 3-0
    September 25, 2019
    The Centenary volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to the East Texas Baptist University Tigers, 3-0, on Tuesday in the Gold Dome.  The Ladies (5-11) had their two-game winning streak snapped, losing 25-18, 25-23, 25-17 and falling to ETBU for the third time this season. The Tigers improved to 9-5 on the season. The Ladies are 4-4 in their last eight matches, having played the last five at home after being on the road the majority of the season.

    The Centenary volleyball team will welcome the East Texas Baptist University Tigers to town for a non-conference match set for 7 p.m. in the Gold Dome.  The Ladies (5-10 overall) are fresh off a pair of wins in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Group A Divisional hosted by the Ladies this past weekend.

  • Volleyball Claims Five-Set Thriller over Schreiner

    The Centenary volleyball team defeated the Schreiner Mountaineers in a five-set thriller on Saturday afternoon in the Gold Dome on day two of the SCAC Group A Divisional Tournament.  The Ladies took sets one and three by counts of 25-18 and 25-21 and clinched the match in set five by a score of 15-11. Schreiner claimed sets two and four (25-20 and 25-22).

    The Centenary volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Friday on the opening day of the SCAC Group A Divisional Tournament held at the campus Fitness Center and the Gold Dome. The Ladies (3-10, 1-2 SCAC) were swept by Southwestern University and Colorado College and will face Schreiner at 2 p.m. Saturday and then cap off the weekend with a match versus The University of Dallas at 4:30 p.m. Both matches will be held inside the Gold Dome.
