Volleyball Faces Grambling At Home Thursday

Shreveport – The Centenary volleyball team will face the Grambling State University Lady Tigers to town for a non-conference match set for Thursday at 6 p.m. inside the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (6-12) swept the Jarvis Christian Lady Bulldogs, 3-0, on Tuesday evening in a non-conference match. Centenary improved to 4-3 at home and earned their second sweep of the season. Centenary won the match with scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-17 over the Lady Bulldogs. Grambling enters Thursday's match at 6-11 on the season. Centenary and Grambling split a pair of home and home matches last season.

Senior Marissa Sandoval (San Antonio, Texas) led the Ladies with 20 digs on Tuesday while sophomore Alyssa Davis (Van Alstyne, Texas) contributed 11. The trio of Brittany Risner (Montgomery, Texas), Kristian Loving (Tyler Texas), and Marichael Clarin-Jante (Houston, Texas) combined for 21 digs.

Freshman Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) led the Maroon and White with 10 kills and sophomore Kay Kelley (Fort Worth, Texas), sophomore Alyssa Davis (Van Alstyne, Texas), and sophomore Elizabeth Epley (Nashville, Tenn.) combined for 24 kills. Risner had 23 assists while sophomore Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) recorded 14.
