Volleyball Sweeps Jarvis Christian at Home

Shreveport – The Centenary volleyball team swept the Jarvis Christian Lady Bulldogs, 3-0, on Tuesday evening in a non-conference match at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (6-12) improved to 4-3 at home and earned their second sweep of the season. Centenary won the match with scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-17 over the Lady Bulldogs.

Senior Marissa Sandoval (San Antonio, Texas) led the Ladies with 20 digs on Tuesday while sophomore Alyssa Davis (Van Alstyne, Texas) contributed 11. The trio of Brittany Risner (Montgomery, Texas), Kristian Loving (Tyler Texas), and Marichael Clarin-Jante (Houston, Texas) combined for 21 digs.

Freshman Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) led the Maroon and White with 10 kills and sophomore Kay Kelley (Fort Worth, Texas), sophomore Alyssa Davis (Van Alstyne, Texas), and sophomore Elizabeth Epley (Nashville, Tenn.) combined for 24 kills. Risner had 23 assists while sophomore Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) recorded 14.

The match featured 13 ties and nine lead changes. Kandice Jackson led Jarvis Christian with 12 digs and 11 assists. Ja'Mya Smith and Jai'la Gray combined for 23 digs.

The Ladies improved to 7-3 all-time against the Lady Bulldogs and have won the last four matches in the series. Jarvis Christian dropped to 6-12 overall and has lost seven straight matches.

Centenary remains home on Thursday for another non-conference match against Grambling set for 6 p.m. Live stats and live video will be available.

The Ladies then travel to Kerrville, Texas this weekend for the SCAC Cross Divisional #1 with two matches per day Oct. 5-6. #CTheOpportunity #GoCentenary
