LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Another week, another award for Ladies softball.

On the heels of Kelsey Ancelot's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week honor last Monday, freshman Taylor Abshire garnered Conference Pitcher of the Week accolades on Monday, February 26.

Abshire appeared in the circle in all three games played during the week, picking up her first collegiate complete game win. She allowed just an unearned run in Centenary's 10-1 win against Grambling State.

To close out the weekend, she appeared in relief in both games of a double header for the Maroon and White against Huntingdon February 24. In game one, she allowed an unearned run and five hits in 4.1 innings pitched. In the second game, she held the Hawks hitless in 2.1 innings, allowing one unearned run.

For the season, Abshire is 3-0 with a 1.85 ERA in six appearances and 22.2 innings pitched.

Centenary softball returns to action next Tuesday, March 6, with a doubleheader at Grambling State. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
