Ladies Fall to #3 UT Tyler, 8-0

TYLER, Texas - Centenary Ladies Softball (6-3) fell to UT Tyler (8-1) Tuesday night, March 6.

Junior Wendy Gillet managed the lone hit for the Ladies in the game. Junior Nichole Aldridge (1-3) took the loss in the circle, allowing nine hits and four runs in 2.2 innings pitched.

After UT Tyler took a 1-0 lead in the first, it scored three runs in the third and four unearned runs in the fifth to end the game. Leadoff hitter Nicole Garcia led the Patriots with three hits in four at-bats with two runs scored. Ashley Perez added two doubles in three at-bats with two RBIs and a run scored.

Colleen Bentke (4-1) pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing one hit while striking out seven.

Centenary plays its first home and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contests of the season this weekend when it welcomes Trinity to Shreveport for four games March 10-11. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1 p.m. with Sunday's twinbill slated to begin at noon.
