Women's Soccer Sweeps SCAC Weekly Awards

Shreveport – The Centenary women's soccer team swept the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors on Monday as the league office announced that Migui Boldrin was named SCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Gabby McDonald was named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 27th.

Boldrin (Ribeiaro, Brazil), a senior midfielder in her first season with the Ladies, scored three goals and had an assist in two key conference wins for the Ladies this past weekend. Centenary defeated both Dallas and Austin College on the road and Boldrin, the SCAC's leader in goals and points, had a goal and the game-winning assist in a 3-2 win at Dallas on Friday and then scored a pair of goals on Sunday in a 4-0 victory over Austin College.

She also scored a goal last Monday in a 6-1 home victory over Louisiana College, giving her four goals for the week in three games. She leads her team and the conference this season with 16 goals and 38 points. She also has six assists and four game-winning goals. This is the second Offensive Player of the Week honor this season for Boldrin. She also achieved the honor after week one of the season after scoring a pair of game-winning goals.

Gabby McDonald, a sophomore defender/midfielder from Pasadena, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 27th, earning the honor for the first time in her young career. McDonald was a lock down defender this past week for the Ladies as she helped lead her team to three victories including a pair of road conference wins last weekend over the University of Dallas and Austin College. She also chipped in offensively scoring the game-winning goal on Friday in a thrilling 3-2 win at Dallas in the 73rd minute to break a tie and give the Maroon and White the key SCAC victory.

McDonald now has two goals and an assist in 14 games (12 starts) this season for the Ladies. She became the second Centenary player this season on the defensive side of the ball to earn this honor as previously goalkeeper Karlie Delhommer (St. Amant, La.) was the week six honoree. Monday's honors marks just the second time this season that a school has had both the defensive and offensive players of the week as Trinity previously accomplished this during week seven.

The Ladies (14-1, 5-1 SCAC) wrap up the regular season this weekend at home as they aim for a potential conference regular season title as the Maroon and White face Texas Lutheran on Friday at 5 p.m. at Mayo Field and then Southwestern at Noon on Sunday. The six Ladies seniors will be honored on Friday in a pregame "Senior Day" ceremony. #GoCentenary #CTheOpportunity
